COVID-19 Guidance

It is with great sadness that the latest Government guidelines, updated on the March 23rd, clearly states that people must not use their holiday homes at this time, as it is regarded as ‘non-essential travel’. Holiday Parks are specified within these guidelines.

‘Essential travel does not include visits to second homes, camp sites, caravan parks or similar, whether for isolation purposes or holidays. People should remain in their primary residence. Not taking these steps puts additional pressure on communities and services that are already at risk.’

Last week, the Government ordered certain businesses – including pubs, cinemas and theatres – to close. The Government is now extending this requirement to a further set of businesses and other venues, including; hotels, hostels, bed and breakfasts, campsites, caravan parks, and boarding houses for commercial/leisure use.

So whilst the Park is ready and open, you ARE NOT permitted by law to travel to the park and use your holiday home until further notice. You MUST NOT visit Lakeside Holiday Park at all, until we are advised it is safe to do so. This includes visiting your caravan to check on it or do any work on it. Any contractors doing work on your caravans are also not permitted on park. We will of course keep you updated and will be constantly re assessing the situation as events unfold.

Our team are currently contacting all our bookings to rearrange your holiday. We will happily move your booking to another date within the 2020 Season. Please advise us of the date that you would like your booking moved to.

Your holiday is very special to you and your enjoyment is equally important to us but, please, do not visit us if you, or any member of your holiday party, are showing signs of illness such as a high temperature, a new continuous cough, flu, respiratory problems or if you have recently returned from a high risk area/been in contact with anyone with Covid -19.
However, should:
1. You, a member of your holiday party or someone living in the same household be diagnosed with Covid-19 (proof needs to be supplied – a GP note or 111 email confirmation. We are unable to confirm your new holiday date until this has been received).
2. Government action means you can’t arrive for your holiday as booked.
We will cover the value of your holiday as booked by offering you another date during 2020, subject to:
a) You giving us written notice 72 hours ahead of you booked arrival date.
b) That there’s accommodation/a pitch available for the future date(s) you chose.
c) We will endeavour to offer you the same category of accommodation/pitch that you initially booked.
If the future holiday date you chose is at a time of lower tariffs, we cannot refund any difference between that and the value of your initial booking.
If the future holiday date you chose is at a time of higher tariffs, we will check out the very best deal for you but will require payment for the difference in tariffs.
This safeguard for you holiday is in addition to our usual Terms and Conditions.
We’re sorry but we regret that we cannot offer to move your holiday if you self-isolate or simply decide to abandon taking your booked holiday as booked.

**Sun bookings: We will be contacting all Sun bookings up to 1st May 2020 to cancel your stay. The Sun will be informed of your cancellation and refund you directly. These cancellations will, as you can imagine take time so please bear with us at this difficult time. Please DO NOT contact us if your Sun booking is for a date after the 1st May 2020. We will get in touch with you.
